The Client 

A premier country club, located in Boca Raton, Florida—well-known for its beautiful grounds, luxurious amenities, and top-notch golf courses—was undergoing major changes including a significant renovation of its facility. The country club’s new management understood that the renovation was going to require substantial teamwork, collaboration, planning, and vision. Along with this renovation, they wanted to ensure that the club’s IT strategy was fully aligned with its expanding operational needs and evolving business requirements.

The Challenge

At the onset of the renovation, management wanted to ensure that the proper collaborative leadership necessary to take technology in the anticipated direction—one that would drive continued innovation and ironclad security—was fully locked in place. The initial assessment provided by Mindcore revealed some gaps in the club’s current IT infrastructure along with potential cyber security issues that would require attention given the dynamic nature of technology and the Internet. This coupled with existing technology support matters, a desire to optimize response times to provide best-in-class service to stakeholders, and a strategic need for more comprehensive planning to elevate the management of the IT project portfolio and infrastructure led the club’s management to ask Mindcore to provide appropriate recommendations that would take the club’s technology to the next level during this time of considerable change. 

Overall, it was important for the IT team to shine during this time of transformation. Ultimately, the club wanted to raise the bar of excellence for its IT department and make it a model for its industry.

The Solution

After digesting the detailed IT audit and cyber security assessment that had been prepared by Mindcore along with its executive summary—including a roadmap and budget to optimize existing technology—the country club’s management was eager to immediately kick off discussions with Mindcore.

Mindcore’s solution for getting the club’s IT infrastructure in line with the renovation and expanding operational needs included the following tasks:

  • Conducted a multi-day site survey to gather feedback on IT issues
  • Instituted a dedicated IT service management ticketing system
  • Reviewed all outstanding contracts with technology/software vendors
  • Added a dedicated virtual IT director to ensure ongoing leadership

The Result

After the initial optimization of the IT environment was successfully completed, the club’s management was so pleased with the results from realigning the IT infrastructure, mitigating existing cyber security issues, and the professional manner in which the entire project was efficiently managed from start to end—they decided to make some changes.

The club asked Mindcore to fully take over and manage the day-to-day support of the technology department. This would also include providing the lead on all IT aspects of the club’s major renovation.
